Effective Date: June 25, 2026
Orange County Notary is committed to providing reliable, professional mobile notary services. Because our services involve reserved appointment times, travel, and state-regulated notarial acts, this Refund Policy explains when refunds may or may not be available.
By scheduling an appointment with Orange County Notary, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below.
State-Regulated Notary Fees
California law establishes the maximum fee that may be charged for notarial acts. Once a notarial act has been properly completed, state-regulated notary fees are fully earned and are non-refundable.
Refunds will not be issued simply because a customer later decides they no longer need the notarized document or changes their mind after the notarization has been completed.
Travel Fees
Mobile notary appointments require time, scheduling, and travel.
Travel fees are separate from notary fees and compensate for the notary’s travel time, mileage, scheduling, and availability.
Once the notary has departed for your appointment location, the travel fee is considered earned and is non-refundable, regardless of whether the notarization is completed.
Situations That Do Not Qualify for a Refund
No refunds will be issued under the following circumstances, including but not limited to:
- The signer fails to appear at the scheduled appointment.
- The signer does not have acceptable identification required by California law.
- The signer refuses to sign the document.
- The document is incomplete or otherwise not eligible for notarization.
- The signer appears unwilling, under duress, or unable to understand the transaction.
- The requested notarization cannot legally be performed.
- Incorrect appointment information was provided by the customer.
- The appointment is canceled after the notary has begun traveling.
- The customer changes their mind after booking or after services have been performed.
- The customer no longer requires the notarization after the appointment has been scheduled.
Same-Day Cancellations
Appointments canceled on the same day as the scheduled service may be subject to the full travel fee.
If the notary has already begun traveling, the travel fee remains fully payable and is not refundable.
No-Show Appointments
If the customer is unavailable, refuses to answer, cannot be located, or fails to appear at the agreed appointment location and time, the appointment will be considered a no-show.
No-shows are not eligible for refunds, and applicable travel fees remain due.
Waiting Time
Our notary will make reasonable efforts to accommodate brief delays.
If the customer is significantly late, additional waiting fees may apply, or the appointment may be canceled at the notary’s discretion. Any earned travel fees remain non-refundable.
Payment Disputes and Chargebacks
Customers agree not to initiate chargebacks or payment disputes for services that were provided in accordance with this Refund Policy.
If a chargeback is filed for a validly completed service, Orange County Notary reserves the right to provide appointment records, invoices, communications, GPS travel records, and other supporting documentation to the payment processor or financial institution to dispute the claim.
Customers remain responsible for any unpaid balances resulting from invalid chargebacks, along with any collection costs, administrative fees, attorney’s fees, and court costs permitted by law.
Exceptional Circumstances
Orange County Notary may, at its sole discretion, issue a partial or full refund in rare situations where we determine that doing so is appropriate.
Any such refund is voluntary and does not create an obligation to issue refunds in future situations.
